Michigan has become the land of camo and flourescent orange fashion as the hunters diverge for hunting season. I always have mixed feelings about hunting. We live on 10 acres where many deer call home and we have silly hunters who insist on trespassing and shooting across my yard. My children can't go outside to play nor the dogs outdoors to attend to the call of nature (the cats are just thankful for the kitty litter I suppose, they are not much for the crisp outdoors anyway) without donning orange everything and praying for the best. I am not anti-hunting or even anti-firearms in the hands of responsibly trained and respectful folks (as I am a NRA card carrying member and have known how to shoot since I was a kid), I am against people who have had a bit too much to drink at deer camp traipsing across my backyard with a gun looking to shoot anything that moves (kids or dogs in our case). Just my thoughts for today.
