Thank you so much for everyone who called, emailed or commented their Happy Birthday Wishes..... I still feel older than 34 but, incredibly loved.
I have been thinking a lot about my next birthday- 35 is one of those big ones because you are closer to the big 5-0 than you are to the day you graduated highschool. I decided to start the "365 days until the next one" journal (yup another journal...I am so addicted to books of blank paper it isn't even funny.... I seriously think I start a new one because I do not want to feel guilty about having bought yet another journal when really, I have many around the house already.....sad thing is that they are all Moleskins.... so I can't even use the excuse that they look differently as a justify).
So about pet projects.... the "365 day until the next one" journal is more about documenting than anything. I have quite a few projects going on right now that are the type that change your world kind of things. I suppose there are times where crazy amazing things just fall in your lap (like me getting to be on Carol Duvall's DVD) but, there are precious few opportunities which are made of the stuff of something so much bigger than yourself. I just want to make sure not to forget I suppose.
My dog (thinking about pets you know) reminded me about something really profound today that ties in perfectly.... to be an active participant in something amazing, you have to be ready to go and do it, you have to be chomping at the bit and rearing to go. Pet projects are not passive type things, they are the kinds of things you really want to do. My dog was ready, he wanted to go, and did not care about what was in store, all he knew is that it would be an adventure and he wanted to be a part of it.
