In case you ever wonder what the heck goes on in a three year old's head, that makes two of us. My daughter is one of the most "girlie" little girls I have ever met. She wears her tiara and changes her clothes at least 6 times a day, she cannot step foot out of the door if her hair is a mess and well, I am shocked by how many shades of pink there truly are because her closet is full of the many variations. Of course she got me thinking again today.
My husband and my daughter were reading a color book together. He was pointing to colors and she was repeating back to him what colors they were. He pointed to a bird and she would dutifully say, "Blue". He pointed to the sun and she parroted back, "Yellow". When he got to the apple, instead of red, she said, "Bad Guy Red." Bad Guy Red- yes, she totally has two older brothers can you tell? It got me thinking though how we all have different ideas of what color something is and nine times out of ten, it is directly connected to an experience we have had..... Bad Guy Red would be Ferrari Red to my husband whereas, it would be Geranium in my book. It made me think about how thankful I am that we live in a world with so many shades of red.
